Unit Functions:

• Providing legal advice on matters referred by Divisions and Units
• Managing the appointment, administration and monitoring of law firms representing the Department
• Preparing reports on legal cases for Management
• Minimising the risk of legal action against the Department
• Reviewing the scope of coverage, renewing protection and making insurance claims to safeguard the Department's interests
• Pursuing civil action against individuals or companies to protect the Department's interests
• Reviewing, drafting and preparing agreements or instruments involving Divisions and Units
• Formulating, managing and coordinating legal action to protect the Department's interests, including providing advisory services to Divisions, KETENGAH Subsidiaries, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Cooperatives
