This Ramadan brought a ray of happiness to two families as their dream of owning a home became a reality through the People’s Housing Programme (Program Perumahan Rakyat Sejahtera – PPRS).

The mock key handover ceremony was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Rozi bin Mamat, Chairman of KETENGAH, together with Yang Mulia Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa, General Manager of KETENGAH. The handover symbolised the continued commitment to prioritising the well-being of the people.

The first recipient, Encik Mohamad Sakri bin Kadir, 58, from Kampung Peroh, Ajil, Hulu Terengganu, is the first beneficiary under the PPRS within the KETENGAH region. The house was built at a cost of RM79,000.00, providing a safer and more comfortable home for him and his family.

The second recipient, Encik Zamri bin Chik, 53, from Kampung Lubuk Batu, received a house under the former Hardcore Poor Housing Programme (PPRT), which has since been rebranded as PPRS. The construction of his house involved a cost of RM66,000.00. This assistance is highly meaningful in ensuring that he and his family can enjoy a safer, more comfortable, and proper home.

This programme is a government initiative aimed at assisting the poor and hardcore poor in owning better-quality homes. The houses are built according to safety specifications and are equipped with complete basic facilities to ensure the comfort and well-being of the recipients.

Yayasan KETENGAH also contributed gas stoves to the two families to help ease their essential living needs.

Overall, the implementation of this programme reflects a continued commitment to strengthening rural community development and ensuring that no one is left behind in the nation’s development progress.
