Development, Sarawak (M-FICORD), led by Yang Berhormat Datuk Maclaine @ Martin Ben, Deputy Minister of M-FICORD (Commodities and Regional Development), during a working visit to the Integrated Village Economic Development Project (PROSPEK) under KETENGAH, as well as various agricultural projects under the Terengganu State Department of Agriculture.
The delegation was warmly received by Yang Berusaha En. Zainuddin bin Hj. Md. Zaki, Deputy General Manager (Development) of KETENGAH, Encik Amal Fariz bin Awang, Assistant Secretary of the Land and Regional Development Division, KKDW, KETENGAH management, local leadership, and residents at Dataran Kejat, Kampung Pasir Raja.
During the visit, the delegation toured several key projects, including:
Freshwater Fish Farming Project in Kg Pasir Raja, a niche product under PROSPEK Pasir Raja.
Mengkuang Processing Centre in Pasir Raja.
Cluster Corn Planting Project in Kampung Seberang Tayur Hilir, Kemaman, a niche product under PROSPEK Kemaman, approved by KKDW starting 2024.
The objectives of the visit were to encourage knowledge sharing and strengthen collaboration among implementing agencies and coordinators of PROSPEK in Sarawak and Terengganu, assess the implementation of PROSPEK in Terengganu as a reference for new PROSPEK projects in Sarawak, and observe agricultural project implementation in Terengganu as a model for community development.
KETENGAH expressed its sincere gratitude to M-FICORD for the visit and hopes that the established cooperation will have a positive impact on local economic development, particularly in rural areas that are the focus of joint development initiatives.
