Besut, 5 April 2026 – Koperasi Sahabat Gunung Tebu Terengganu Berhad is a grant recipient under the Desa Lestari Programme, one of the key initiatives by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) aimed at empowering rural communities through the cooperative model.

The cooperative received a grant totalling RM500,000, which has been utilised to fund various project components, including the purchase of a passenger van, 16 units of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), camping equipment and gear, as well as operational and administrative costs.

The monitoring visit was led by Tuan Haji Md Razi bin Lazim, Director of the KKDW State Office of Terengganu, while KETENGAH was represented by Encik Jafre bin Taib, Manager of Community and Social Development. A briefing on the project's implementation was delivered by Dr. Mohd Parid bin Mamat, a member of the Cooperative Board of Directors.

All attending officers were also given the opportunity to experience first-hand the thrill of navigating the ATV trail — a challenging course that forms part of the recreation and ecotourism package offered by Koperasi Sahabat Gunung Tebu Terengganu Berhad to its visitors.

In his address, Tuan Haji Md Razi bin Lazim expressed confidence that the cooperative holds strong potential for long-term success, and that its growth will contribute meaningfully to the development of the local economy.
