40 DISASTER RELIEF KITS DISTRIBUTED TO FLOOD VICTIMS AT KAMPUNG SHUKOR TEMPORARY EVACUATION CENTRE

A total of 40 disaster relief kits were distributed to residents at the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Shukor, following a flood that affected the area. The residents of Kampung Shukor have been staying at the PPS since 17 December 2025 after their homes were inundated due to continuous heavy rain.
According to one of the victims, Tengku Faezah binti Tengku Mahmud, the flood occurred very quickly:
"The water rose very fast at 12:00 midnight on 17 December 2025, forcing us to evacuate and take shelter here." She also expressed her gratitude to KETENGAH for providing the assistance.
"This aid is very meaningful to us as we face this major ordeal. We hope this situation will pass quickly so we can return to our homes," she added.
The disaster relief kits were handed over by Tuan Haji Abdul Halim bin Yusof, Finance and Accounting Manager of KETENGAH, together with officers from the Property and Local Authority Division. Also present was the Skuad Ihsan Madani KETENGAH, who assisted in the distribution of the aid.
Although the floodwaters have fully receded, residents were advised to continue staying at the PPS due to the ongoing heavy rain alert (waspada) issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department until 19 December 2025.
