KETENGAH Conquers the Peak of Gunung Tebu

In conjunction with the Physical Asset Handover Program under the Desa Lestari Program to Koperasi Sahabat Gunung Tebu Terengganu Berhad, 16 officers and staff from KETENGAH were invited to join an expedition to conquer the peak of Gunung Tebu.
The expedition was participated by 62 individuals from various organizations, including the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Terengganu State Office of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), Terengganu State Forestry Department, Royal Malaysia Police, Besut District Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and participants of the Community Forest Site Visitor Management Course (Malim Gunung).
Standing at 1,039 meters, Gunung Tebu is one of the highest peaks in Terengganu, known for its challenging hiking trails and the well-preserved beauty of its flora and fauna.
The climb began at 8:30 a.m. on 12 July and took approximately 6 to 8 hours to reach the summit. Hikers navigated large roots, slippery rocks, damp areas, and steep slopes that tested both physical strength and mental endurance. This route is suitable for those seeking a real challenge.
The chirping of birds and the rustling of the forest leaves provided a calming hiking experience, highlighting the biodiversity of the tropical rainforest.
This program also served as a promotional effort by Koperasi Sahabat Gunung Tebu Terengganu Berhad, which forms part of their ecotourism project.
Congratulations to Koperasi Sahabat Gunung Tebu Terengganu Berhad for successfully organizing this program, and congratulations to all participants who reached the peak of Gunung Tebu, as well as everyone involved, both directly and indirectly.
