Basic Civil Defence Course (CDA-ERT) Special Series KETENGAH

Central Terengganu Development Authority (KETENGAH) has taken a proactive step in line with the aspiration of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, to empower agencies under KKDW through the establishment of basic civil defence groups in collaboration with the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).
To realise this aspiration, KETENGAH organised the Basic Civil Defence Course (CDA-ERT) Special Series for KETENGAH involving 27 selected officers and staff. The three-day, two-night course held at Felda Residence Hotel, Kuala Terengganu provided participants with exposure to emergency management, first aid, basic firefighting and initial rescue actions.
Participants underwent 16 hours of training modules covering Introduction to Civil Defence, Basic Drill, Basic First Aid, Basic Firefighting, Basic Knots and Lashings, as well as other modules related to emergency preparedness.
KETENGAH extends its highest appreciation and thanks to the APM personnel, particularly Lieutenant (PA) Mohd Nazri bin Zakaria, Corporal (PA) Nor Farzila binti Mustafa, Lance Corporal (PA) Mohd Khirul bin Hussin, Private (PA) Muhammad Hakimi bin Mohd Saidi, and Private (PA) Nurul Athirah binti Yahaya.
The official closing ceremony of the course was officiated by Tuan Haji Ahmad Fakaruddin bin Ahmad, Deputy General Manager (Operations) of KETENGAH. The course was also managed by the Administration and Human Resource Management Division of KETENGAH.
Through this initiative, KETENGAH hopes to produce a skilled, disciplined and always-ready early response support team that is committed to helping reduce risks and the impact of emergencies at both organisational and community levels throughout the KETENGAH region.
