On 27 February 2025, KETENGAH organised the Prayer Gathering and Official Launch of the KETENGAH Agro-Tech Rural Project at Lot PT4086, Durian Mentangau, Dungun, Terengganu — a strategic initiative to empower the rural agricultural sector through modern technology.

The project involves four participants with a total planting capacity of 16,000 polybags, with each participant managing 4,000 polybags. The crop cultivated is chilli using fertigation techniques integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology in agriculture. Through this technology, crop yields can be increased, operating costs reduced, and product quality better assured. This approach opens opportunities for farmers to explore the digital agriculture ecosystem.

To seek blessings and ensure the successful implementation of the project, a prayer gathering was held and led by Tuan Abdullah bin Raja Ismail, and was attended by YM Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa, General Manager of KETENGAH, KETENGAH management, as well as representatives from the Department of Agriculture, MARDI and FAMA. Subsequently, YM Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa officiated the project launch by planting chilli seedlings and presenting certificates to the participants.

To realise this high-impact project, KETENGAH has allocated RM5 million for its development. This investment will not only empower the local farming community but also accelerate the transformation of the agro sector towards greater sustainability and competitiveness.

KETENGAH remains committed to bringing innovation to the ground by building a more advanced agricultural ecosystem. With the integration of innovation, technology and strategic support, the KETENGAH Agro-Tech Rural Project is set to become a catalyst for modern agricultural advancement, positioning local farmers in line with global developments in the agri-food industry.
