Kelah Sanctuary Has Potential to Become Terengganu's Main Ecotourism Product

TASIK KENYIR, HULU TERENGGANU — The potential of the Kelah Sanctuary as Terengganu's main ecotourism product was highlighted during the visit of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), YBhg. Dato' Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, to the sanctuary on July 27.
The visit was attended by YBrs. Tuan Haji Mahdi Amin bin Ahmad, Deputy General Manager (Operations) of KETENGAH, and YBrs. Encik Shamsul Kamal bin Mohd Amin, Manager of KETENGAH Free Zone.
Focus was given to the Kelah Sanctuary's capacity to be developed as a primary tourism product that integrates elements of conservation, education, and ecotourism into a single attraction.
Through this approach, sustainable conservation efforts for the Kelah fish species continue to be strengthened, while exploring opportunities to enhance the development of nature-based tourism products in line with the aspiration to empower the national tourism sector.
KETENGAH extends its highest appreciation to MOTAC for the visit and continuous support for the development of tourism products in Tasik Kenyir.
KETENGAH and MOTAC are committed to further strengthening cooperation in developing quality, sustainable, and competitive tourism products to solidify Tasik Kenyir's position as a preferred primary tourist destination.
