Visit of YAM Tengku Sri Temenggung Raja Terengganu to Kenyir Lake

Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Sri Temenggung Raja Terengganu, Brigadier General Dato’ Seri Tengku Baharuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, conducted a visit to Kenyir Lake accompanied by a delegation from TBM Eco Holdings. The visit aimed to gain a comprehensive overview and to outline initial strategies for the proposed Aquaculture Industry Zone (ZIA) Project, planned through a strategic collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
The visit was accompanied by Yang Mulia Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa, General Manager of Lembaga Kemajuan Terengganu Tengah (KETENGAH), and attended by Ts. Dr. Ermeey bin Abd. Kadir, Rector of UiTM Terengganu Branch; YBhg. Dato’ Mohamed Farid, Chief Executive Officer of TBM Eco Holdings Sdn. Bhd.; Puan Hasniah binti Othman, Deputy Director of Fisheries, Terengganu; along with senior officers and staff from the participating agencies and companies.
During the visit, YAM Tengku Sri Temenggung was taken to the Sungai Petang Kelah Sanctuary, Kenyir Lake. The delegation also visited the Herbal Garden to experience the uniqueness and benefits of various local herbal drinks.
The Aquaculture Industry Zone (ZIA) Project is expected to serve as a catalyst for the growth of the state’s aquaculture sector, particularly in the Kenyir Lake area, which is renowned for its natural beauty and freshwater biodiversity. The kelah fish, a high-value species, is seen to have great potential for commercial development through this initiative.
