The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) for three strategic initiatives: the development of petrol stations for subsidized fuel distribution, the installation of PV Solar Panels, and the placement of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) products in BHPetromart outlets. This MoU involves eight agencies under KKDW.

KETENGAH also signed the MoU, represented by its General Manager, YM Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of KKDW, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi.

BHPetrol will invest RM45 million to build ten petrol stations at selected locations, while MARA Inc. has allocated RM1.5 million for the installation of PV Solar Panels at 50 existing stations. These initiatives aim to support the Malaysia MADANI vision by reducing carbon emissions and advancing green technology under Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of KKDW stated that this collaboration opens new opportunities for rural communities, enhances rural welfare, and boosts the local economy. Through this partnership, it is hoped that rural populations will gain access to facilities equivalent to those in urban areas and generate additional income.

Also present at the event was the Chairman of KETENGAH, YBhg. Dato’ Seri (Dr.) Haji Ahmad bin Said.
