KENYIR GEOPARK RAJA SERAMA COMPETITION 2026 LIVENS UP TASIK KENYIR

TASIK KENYIR, HULU TERENGGANU, 12 September 2026 – The Kenyir Geopark Raja Serama Competition 2026 held at Tasik Kenyir today successfully attracted 263 serama chickens and approximately 800 visitors.
The programme, organised by Lembaga Kemajuan Terengganu Tengah (KETENGAH) in collaboration with the Terengganu State Serama Fanciers Association, aims to strengthen local tourism and economic activities, while highlighting serama chickens as part of local heritage and treasure.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Mahdi Amin bin Ahmad, Deputy General Manager (Operations) of KETENGAH, representing the General Manager of KETENGAH. He was accompanied by Encik Mohd Hafiz bin Ahmad, KETENGAH Tourism Manager; Encik Shamsul Kamal bin Mohd Amin, KETENGAH Free Zone Manager; Tuan Mohd Zulkifli bin Tuan Mohd Zain, Chairman of the Terengganu State Serama Fanciers Association; and Encik Muhammad Fakruradzi bin Zakaria, Treasurer of the Terengganu State Serama Fanciers Association.
The competition involved six main categories: Ayam Serama A, Ayam Serama B, Ayam Serama Remaja, Ayam Serama Muda, Ayam Serama Anak A and Ayam Serama Anak B, which saw competition among serama enthusiasts and practitioners from various locations.
For the Best of the Best category, Geng Parrot was crowned champion, while Faris GSKL emerged as the first runner-up and SK Group in third place.
The organisation of this programme reflects the potential of Tasik Kenyir and Kenyir Geopark as a tourist destination that combines elements of recreation, community, and local heritage.
