The issue of obesity among children and adolescents is increasingly concerning and requires serious attention from all parties. In line with efforts to promote community health, the Advisory Panel of Al Muktafi Billah Shah (AMBS) Health Clinic, together with the Dungun District Health Office, in collaboration with KETENGAH and the Dungun District Education Office, organised the Madani Community Health Carnival: Youth Obesity Health on 9 October 2025 at the AMBS Village Community Centre.

The carnival aimed to raise public awareness, particularly among youth, on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and preventing obesity from an early age. The programme involved 150 primary and secondary school students, including 20 KETENGAH officers and staff.

Various engaging activities were conducted, including aerobics, health talks, and health awareness exhibitions. One of the main attractions was the participation of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Cobra Squad), which showcased venomous snake species and safety equipment. The event was further enlivened by a dikir barat performance by students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Durian Mas.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Mulia Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Nadzri bin Tengku Musa, General Manager of KETENGAH, and attended by Encik Zainuddin bin Haji Md. Zaki, Deputy General Manager (Development) of KETENGAH and Chairman of the AMBS Health Clinic Advisory Panel.

The organisation of such programmes is expected to strengthen the role of various agencies in addressing obesity issues and to empower youth health, contributing to the development of a healthy and prosperous Madani generation.
