This programme was held as one of the out-of-classroom learning activities to expose students to the history of iron ore mining in Bukit Besi and its role in contributing to the economic development of Terengganu in the past.
Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to explore various collections of artefacts, exhibits, historical photographs, and information related to the once-thriving mining industry in Bukit Besi. They were also briefed on the history of the establishment of the Bukit Besi Museum, the iron ore mining process, and the life of the local community during the mining era.
Such visits not only strengthen history and heritage-based learning but also support KETENGAH's efforts to preserve, promote, and elevate the historical value of Bukit Besi as a valuable heritage treasure to be appreciated, cherished, and inherited by current and future generations.
It is hoped that this visit will provide meaningful benefits and experiences to the students in understanding and appreciating local history, which is part of Terengganu's identity and heritage.
