JULY 2025 MONTHLY ASSEMBLY OF KKDW

The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) Monthly Assembly for July 2025 was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, at Dewan Seri Lestari, KKDW, today.
In his speech, YAB Deputy Prime Minister highlighted KKDW's achievements for the first half of 2025, including:
📌 the launch of the Desa Kirana initiative as a driver for rural tourism;
📌 improved excellent SPM results for MRSM;
📌 a surge in applications to TVET institutions;
📌 the final phase of drafting amendments to Act 134; and
📌 the organization of the ASEAN TVET Council 4th Regional Policy Dialogue.
He emphasized that every action implemented by KKDW personnel will significantly impact the lives of rural communities, and the role of the Regional Development Boards must be refined to refocus on their core mandate: local economic development, project coordination, and strategic empowerment of rural communities.
Special emphasis was also given to the mastery of current technologies such as AI and digital systems among KKDW personnel to remain efficient, agile, and relevant in the post-digital era. Rural change does not start from the outside but begins from within, at KKDW itself, with all its dedicated and competitive personnel.
Also present were YB Datuk Hajah Rubiah binti Haji Wang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development; Datuk Muhd Khair Razman bin Mohamed Annuar, Chief Secretary; Dato’ Abdul Kahar bin Abdullah, Deputy Chief Secretary (Policy); Tuan Meor Ismail bin Meor Akim, Deputy Chief Secretary (Development), senior officials, and personnel from the ministry's departments and agencies.
