Water Sports Remain Main Attraction at Festival Kenyir Geopark 2025

Water sports events have always been a must-attend activity eagerly anticipated since the introduction of the Kenyir Festival in 1994, which was then known as Kenyir Ecofest. In this edition, the Kenyir Geopark Festival 2025 continues the tradition with various exciting competitions held to enliven the atmosphere at Lake Kenyir.
Among the water sports contested were Pillow Fight and Tug of War. These competitions successfully attracted 40 participants representing eight teams, consisting of students from higher education institutions and local villagers.
The Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Water Sports Events was officiated by Mr. Adnan bin Awang Sulong, Monitoring and Regulatory Manager of the Subsidiary Companies, representing the General Manager of KETENGAH.
PDB FC emerged as the overall champion and took home RM400 in cash, followed by Yak Yak Yei Team in second place with RM300, while Toman Team secured third place with RM200. Other participating teams received consolation prizes of RM100 each in appreciation of their participation.
Additionally, the Kayak Relay event was held on Thursday, 30 October 2025, at 2:30 PM, with 20 teams participating, comprising students from higher education institutions and nearby villagers.
In this category, Rovers FC was crowned the overall champion and received RM400 in cash. Food Truck Yak Yak Yei took second place with RM300, while Puskon Team finished third with RM200. Teams placed fourth to eighth received RM100 each, while those in ninth to twentieth place were awarded RM50 each as an encouragement for participation.
The organization of these water sports events not only adds vibrancy to the festival but also strengthens the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, and a healthy lifestyle among the local community and students.
